    Lyrics to Fast and Pray

Fast and Pray – lyrics and music by Catherine Scholz

Dearest lover, if there ever was a doubt in my mind, last night it disappeared.

Do you remember the summer’s fog that found us naked in the night against all that we feared?

Well I have found that place again but now it’s inside and no matter how dark the waters I swim I’ll remember the well of my power within.

And no matter how long winter’s worst day I know how to wait, fast and pray.

No matter how long winter’s worst day, I know how to wait, fast and pray, fast and pray.

Dearest lover, if there ever was a doubt in my mind, last night it disappeared.

Do you remember the shooting stars that found us lying on our backs just talking?

Well I have found that place again but now it’s inside and no matter how dark the waters I swim I’ll remember the well of my power within.

And no matter how long winter’s worst day I know how to wait, fast and pray.

No matter how long winter’s worst day, I know how to wait, fast and pray, fast and pray.

Dearest lover, if there ever was a doubt in my mind, last night it disappeared.

Do you remember our first kiss that let us helpless except during those moments?

Well I have found that place again but now it’s inside and no matter how dark the waters I swim I’ll remember the well of my power within.

And no matter how long winter’s worst day I know how to wait, fast and pray.

No matter how long winter’s worst day, I know how to wait, fast and pray, fast and pray.

    Take it Easy Lyrics

Take it Easy – lyrics and music by Catherine Scholz

Carol Ann, she went to sleep and never woke up. She never woke up to the morning. She never work up to the sound of tomorrow. She never woke up to try. And to try is to remember all the reasons she can’t touch, all the reasons she can’t fathom, all the reasons she forgot.

Carol Ann went to work and never woke up. She never woke up to what’s real. She never woke up to the possibilities. She never work up to cry. And to cry is to remember all the seasons she left untouched, all the seasons she can’t recover, all the seasons she forgot.

Carol Ann, she went home and she was alone. She never knew how alone she was. She never knew it could feel good.

And to feel good is so easy when she just lays her body down. She just takes it easy, babe, she just lets it go and I know love ain’t easy babe but you got me tryin. You got me seein’ all the options now so take it easy, babe. Take it easy, babe.

    Lyrics to Expectations

Expectations – Lyrics and Music by Catherine Scholz

I’m changing again, I’m losing my skin in this  transformation.

I loved you within and now I’ll love you without expectations.

I saw this through once, I saw through this twice in my imagination.

You gave me the time to make up my mind, I give you a standing ovation…

You’re welcome to call anytime at all…

  • Lyrics to Crossing Over

    Lyrics to Crossing Over

And I have come to the shoreline to sit on a mound of sand with my legs in the grass. A smile has found my face again.

Sometimes I feel like that tugboat pulling my past behind.

Sometimes I feel like a honeybee tasting the sweetness of life.

But right now, I am the swallow, a messenger of two worlds.

I’m unlimited and I am crossing over.

    Stand still, be with this.

    Remember to breathe.

If you’ve got to move, move your body mindfully.

Pay attention to this breath right now.

Listen past your senses for the soundless sound, for the soundless sound.

    Hu, Allah.

And I have come to share my story, to sing for you my friends.

With my feet on the ground, new life has found these hands again.

Sometimes I don’t think about it, I used to all the time.

Sometimes I go a little bit crazy, can’t escape my mind.

And right now I’m being truthful ’cause I’ve got nothing, nothing to lose.

I’m unlimited and I am crossing over.

    Stand still, be with this.

    Remember to breathe.

If you’ve got to move, move your body mindfully.

Pay attention to this breath right now.

Listen, won’t you listen for the soundless sound, for the soundless sound?

    Hu, Allah.
